What is Rhinoplasty?

This procedure is used to resize and reshape the nose as well as fixing any asymmetry problems. It is also performed to correct any breathing issues or disfigurement caused by trauma. It is a surgical procedure and requires some recovery time.

How does it work?

After administering general anesthesia, the surgeon will shape the cartilage and bone to get the desired shape. If the procedure is being conducted for medical reasons, they will treat any issues causing nasal obstruction thus making breathing difficult.

Recovery from this procedure requires some care but is a quick process and doesn’t take much time at all.

Yes, usually one treatment is enough. Just make sure you and your surgeon are on the same page. Discuss all your concerns and your requirements during the consultations in detail. Don’t shy away from asking questions.

In majority of the cases there are no complications with Rhinoplasty. It is a very common procedure now. You can ask your surgeon to share their past work with you so that you can make sure you are in safe hands.

You might feel some discomfort during the recovery but it should subside completely within a few days. Recovery after this procedure is quick.

It is difficult to say how much your procedure will cost without a consultation. The cost depends greatly on the amount of work being done and the required results.

What to expect during recovery?

After the procedure, the surgeon will cover your nose with a splint to protect it from accidental contact and generally support and preserve the new shape. They also might use some packing in the nostril to absorb fluids. These will be removed in a week. You will also be prescribed some pain medication to make the recovery more comfortable. Any other aftercare measures you need to take will be made clear to you. In 3 weeks’ time you should be able to resume your daily activities.
